Preparations for the 2014 Ion Channel Retreat in beautiful Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada are reaching a fever pitch. Our conference coordinator has not seen the light of day for weeks as he is busy making sure that this Ion Channel Retreat will be the most memorable in… well… memory. However, we would be totally remiss if we did not mention and acknowledge our sponsors, without whom we would never be able to hold this event. So without further ado: Thank you sponsors!!
I’m sure you’ve all heard about our Dinner Boat Cruise around Vancouver and are eagerly anticipating enjoying the warm summer air during this evening cruise. This year, the Dinner Boat Cruise is being sponsored by Chan Test. Apart from their notable, nautical contribution to this year’s retreat, Chan Test has also contributed to the ion channel community for more than 15 years, having developed the most complete library of validated human ion channel-expressing cell lines in the world and publishing over 300 papers in peer-reviewed journals. Chan Test’s contributions to the ion channel community are almost as exciting and notable as sponsoring our Dinner Boat Cruise.
This year we are also holding the first ever Wine and Cheese Reception, made possible by SB Ion Channels. SB Ion Channels has over 15 years of experience in cell line development and ion channel research, with a particular focus on pain and inflammation. In addition to contributing to making sure the 2014 Ion Channel Retreat includes a great opportunity to catch up with old colleagues and connect with new ones, SB Ion Channels has shown excellence and leadership in the ion channel community.
In addition to the event sponsors, the Ion Channel Retreat would not be possible without our corporate sponsors: B’SYS, MaxCyte, Ionic Transport Assays, Eurofins, Molecular Devices, Axion, and Sophion; our media partners: Assay and Drug Development Technologies, Compare Networks, Select Science, and LabX; and our program sponsors: Nanion, and Tetra Genetics. The Ion Channel Retreat would not be possible without our sponsors, so a big thank you to all of them!
Thanks again sponsors for making this retreat happen. We hope that everyone has a great retreat and that our conference coordinator, just like the groundhog, can come out just in time for summer!
